UCIS Masterclass : Eduard Nazarski

Register here. First come first serve.

On 10 May, Eduard Nazarski, Director of Amnesty International in the Netherlands, will give a masterclass in which he will be discussing the need to address pressing human rights issues within the Netherlands. Amnesty leads by the quality of its research, its campaigning dynamism and huge numbers of committed volunteers. Nazarski will speak about what is effective in human rights work, emphasizing that law, political ethics and the commitment to act are equal assets. Nazarski will also touch on how people made a career within Amnesty International and the types of competence that are demanded.

Nazarski will touch on the role of Amnesty as a leading human rights NGO and how they work within the Dutch system to deal with a wide variety of issues in an increasingly hostile environment to the notion of human rights. On top of that Nazarski will speak about job opportunities in the ngo sector, for example at Amnesty International.

UCIS Masterclasses are led by prominent figures who will share their personal knowledge and insights into a relevant theme. They are meant to be less formal, with Chatham House Rules applying.

The masterclass takes place in the Raadzaal of Achter Sint Pieter 200 and starts at 16:00.
